Collection: Drive By Paintings

These small paintings were created during a cycle of major works entitled ‘All the Susannas’ which comprised the proposal for Howe’s upcoming Ph.D. project at Leeds University this fall. Howe refers to them as Drive-by paintings because they were made on the way to or from the canvas or pallet whilst creating the larger works. As such the carry the same marks as the major works, but offer a glimpse into one layer of their multi layered works.

They are interwoven into the creation of The Templum, on display here at Orleans House, and you can read more about that process and connection in the catalogue.
